Project Poetry Goes Outside finally launches!

On the 1st of January 2025, the much-anticipated project Poetry Goes Outside officially launched. This exciting initiative is driven by a dedicated consortium of four diversified organisations from across Europe: Solution (France), Gramigna APS (Italy), Foundation Parasol (Poland) and the project leader, Dideas (Spain).

The idea for the project was born from a very special moment during a sunny day in Portugal. While visiting a quiet café, one of our team members witnessed an inspiring scene: out of nowhere, one of the guests stood up and began reciting poetry, silencing the hum of small talks  and casual table conversations. This simple, yet moving act of artistic expression sparked a thought – why not share this magic beyond the borders, and so, Poetry Goes Outside began.

The project goal is straightforward, but impactful: to connect young generations with their cultural heritage by delving into the rich and timeless world of European poetry.  Through this initiative we are motivated to nurture appreciation, understanding and love for poetry, fostering a sense of emotional connection.

The project is organised into five stages:

  • Research on poetry: A research conducted in partner countries to assess the knowledge of the younger generation regarding the rich cultural heritage of their nations and other European countries. This study will explore their approach to poetry, its roles in our lives and gather insights into their feelings and understanding of poetry and poets.

  • Collection of poetry: A carefully selected collection of exceptional poems, showcasing the works of distinguished poets from five different countries. This collection celebrates the richness and diversity of European cultural heritage.

  • BEING WITH EUROPEAN POEMS: A 2-day event featuring recitation, readings, workshops, presentations and explanations of poetry.

  • Youth local workshops: Specially designed workshops for local youth, aimed at fostering deeper engagement with poetry.

  • Poetry Week: A week filled with activities in the local area, including recitations in public spaces or with groups of local youth participants; workshops led by speakers, experts, and trainers explaining the poetry collected from partner countries. This event will be strongly supported by an information campaign.

All of our materials will be available online in six languages (ENG, ES, FR, IT, PL, UK).

We are excited for the work, involvement, new experiences and opportunities that are about to unfold, as they will bring fresh perspectives, challenges and the chance to make a meaningful impact in ways we’ve never imagined.
